Putting this together took me about an hour with a friend, but the run extending under the coop means my six hens get shade on hot afternoons and the whole thing feels solid. The nesting box lid opens easily for egg collecting, which my kids fight over now.
The elevated design keeps the coop floor dry when it rains, which my old ground-level one never managed. The 24 sq ft run underneath gives my four hens plenty of scratching room on days I can't let them out. Assembly took a solid afternoon, but everything lined up without drama.
I was worried about fitting all my hens, but the 24 sq ft run gives them plenty of room to scratch around. They seem much happier than in their old setup.
